Synopsis Joe Kennedy was always a fighter. Before becoming the controversial 'Praying Coach' who would fight for religious liberties in America and go to the Supreme Court, not once, but twice, Joe was a troubled kid nobody wanted. Given up for adoption at birth and unwanted by his adopted parents, Joe learned to fight to survive. His only rock in a world full of abuse and rejection was Denise, the girl he fell in love with at first sight at the age of nine. Throughout Joe's bouncing around state-run boys' homes, he and Denise became confidants, writing letters to each other. When Joe joined the Marine Corps, Denise married another man. When Joe's own marriage fell apart, he went to fight in Operation Desert Storm. In the meantime, Denise was fighting her own war trapped in an abusive marriage.
